UGC Creators
If you’ve made your way to this post then you likely already know about being a UGC creator – where brands pay you as a creator to make content that they are then able to use for their social media, branding, etc.
This post isn’t about why you should create UGC content (top reasons being it’s fun & you can make $ without having followers) but instead HOW to get started on this journey.

UGC Content
First and most importantly, your content. Start making sample videos & photos with items around your house, things you love, new packages you get, etc.
Create ugc content as if you are already working for the brand. Let’s say you’d love to work with your favorite face wash brand, CeraVe. Start filming videos as if CeraVe just emailed you wanting you to create content for them. What would you present to them? Your skincare routine showing how you use their product to wash your face morning & night, aesthetic unboxing and tutorial clips, a video explaining the benefits of their products and their ingredients, the ideal skincare routine for someone just starting out, etc.
Create all those videos (with your own twist on them of course) and now you have content to work with. Do this for a couple different brands or companies, preferably in different niches so you have a variety of content. However, if you’re only interested in creating content in specific a specific industry, then just stick with that.

UGC Portfolio
This leads us into your portfolio, where all of this new content is going to live. There are tons of portfolio templates online (I’ve linked some below). You can also create one on Canva or a basic website. Just attach your videos, photos, a little about me page, your contact info, and your rates if you want. Of course, make it cute, simple, aesthetic, or whatever matches your vibe and how you want to present yourself to future brands.

Pitching to Brands
Once you have your portfolio ready to go, then start working on your pitch template. This is what you will use when you reach out to brands. There are tons of pitching templates that you can use (linked below) but be sure to make it unique or write one yourself so you stand out to the brand.

Now What…
At this point you have all that’s needed in order to start your UGC creator journey. The next steps would be finding brands to pitch to, negotiating contracts, payment processing, etc. (that’ll be in part 2). But to get the ball rolling: you need ugc content, a portfolio, & a great pitch 😊
Below are some of my favorite tools that will definitely help you out when you’re creating all this new content!
