Selling on eBay, learning how to sell on Poshmark, and setting your business up for success can take some time. However, below you’ll find all the small business tools and resources that you need to get started and make your journey a lot easier!
Reselling Tools
Polymailers (Get Free Shipping Supplies!)
Polymailers are so much easier to store and ship compared to boxes, so I try to use them anytime I can. If you’re shipping USPS priority (including on poshmark) then you can get free polymailers, both padded and regular flat rate here. If you’re shipping first class or like to ship priority in cute & colored polymailers, you can get great deals on Amazon (linked here). Personally, I love to switch up the pattern depending on the season!
Inventory Supplies
Clear Poly Bags – These clear poly bags make is easy to keep your inventory clean, organized, and put away into whatever inventory storage system you use.
Inventory Labels – Instead up writing the number on each piece of inventory, these numbered labels make it easier to keep your inventory labeled and looks more professional.
Tape – Packaging tape is a no brainer. Always try to buy it in bulk to get it for a better price.
Photography Equipment
Lighting – When first starting out, you can get away with just using natural light. However, if you’re looking to scale your business you may want to be able to take photos at anytime and know that you’re lighting is consistent and reliable. Soft box lights or a ring light are the way to go.
Photo Backdrop – Depending on where you plan to take your photos, you may need a backdrop. This could be a large backdrop like this one here, or you can also easily use a plain wall, hard wood floor, a mannequin, etc. Feel free to switch it up and see what works best for you and your listings!
Label Printer + Shipping Labels
Rolo Printer – the best thermal printer for printing labels. Once you use a thermal printer, you won’t want to go back to a traditional printer. It’s so convenient and makes shipping so much easier. The thermal printer requires no ink, so all you need are labels (a 500 pack is $20).
Free Shipping Labels – If you are using a traditional printer to print out your labels, be sure to get the free labels from the post office (here). Some post offices also have them inside. Until you get a level printer, these will save you from having to cut & tape each label. *Note* These are priority labels, so make sure that you only use them when shipping priority mail.
Additional Reselling Tools
FLYP – I have an entire post about FLYP (here) but it is a free tool that I highly recommend to help share your Poshmark closet as well as crosslist your items to multiple platforms. Game changer!
Spreadsheet – Lastly, you need some sort of spreadsheet to keep your inventory and finances organized. When you’re just starting out, you can easily keep track of everything on a simple spreadsheet. However, once your business starts to grow and taxes get involved you’ll need to be more organized. Not Your Dads CPA is a great resource for all things bookkeeping and taxes!
Everything mentioned can be found on my Amazon storefront HERE! & on my LTK Shop -> HERE!
all the best,
xo – Ashley
